ARKHE Beauty Salon with an impressive ceiling

ARKHE Beauty Salon with an impressive ceiling and gold mirrors

Arkhe is a beauty salon located in Japan. It occupies 120 square meters and was designed by Moriyuki Architects using water and the main theme for the décor. The uniqueness of the interior design partially comes from the palette of materials used throughout. Recycled aluminum sheets were used on the ceiling to create the geometric 3D design that mimics the way light reflects on the surface of water. This design strategy also gives the salon a luxurious and sophisticated look without cluttering the floor space and keeping the space simple, open and functional.

Butt Acne

Butt Acne

It's bad enough that breakouts on your face are still a thing, but what the heck is up with getting acne on your butt (aka buttne)? TBH, it's just as embarrassing as waking up to a zit smack in the center of your forehead — only, at least you can quickly hid the pimple on your butt by slipping on your clothes.

1. Don't stay in your work out clothes long enough for your skin to marinate in them. Basically, take your sweaty work out clothes off as you get inside your house and take a shower. The quicker you clean yourself off, the less chance bacteria has to brew inside of your LuLuLemon gear. Oh, and if a pair of pants rubs you the wrong way, maybe chill on wearing them for a hot second until you get this issue under control.

2. Wash with a medicinal, acne-fighting body wash. Dr. Idriss recommends washing with a body wash that contains a high percentage of benzoyl peroxide to kill any bacteria on the skin. Try PanOxyl 10% Acne Foaming Wash, $10

3. Treat, do NOT pick! Dr. Idriss doesn't want you exacerbating the issue. Instead, she recommends swiping the area with a glycolic or salicylic acid pad, like Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads, $13, BUY NOW, and then applying a skin-sloughing lotion on your butt skin, like Amlactin, which contains urea that helps keep dead skin cells from collecting and clogging your pores.

Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema)

Atopic Dermatitis (Eczema)

Eczema is the most common skin condition, especially in children. It affects one in five infants but only around one in fifty adults. It is now thought to be due to “leakiness” of the skin barrier, which causes it to dry out and become prone to irritation and inflammation by many environmental factors. Also, some people with eczema have a food sensitivity which can make eczema symptoms worse. In about half of patients with severe atopic dermatitis, the disease is due to inheritance of a faulty gene in their skin called filaggrin. Unlike with urticaria (hives), the itch of eczema is not caused by histamine so anti-histamines do not control the symptoms. Eczema is often linked with asthma, allergic rhinitis (hay fever) or food allergy. This order of progression is called the atopic march.

Dermatology

Dermatology

Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, nails, hair and its diseases. It is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. A dermatologist treats diseases, in the widest sense, and some cosmetic problems of the skin, scalp, hair, and nails.

Dermatologists diagnose and treat more than 3,000 different diseases. These diseases include skin cancer, eczema, acne, psoriasis, and nail infections.

Dermatologists also improve the appearance of their patients' skin, hair, and nails. For example, a dermatologist can help patients:

Diminish wrinkles, age spots, and other signs of aging.
Have less noticeable acne scars.
Look more like themselves after surgery to remove skin cancer.
Dermatologists see patients of all ages — from newborns to people older than 100 years of age.

what is a hair transplant

What Is a Hair Transplant?

Used in the U.S. since the 1950 s, hair transplantation is surgery that involves removing a narrow strip of hair-bearing scalp from the back of the head and using it to fill an area with thin or no hair.

Most hair transplants are performed in the doector's offic under local anesthesia.

To transplant hair, the surgeon first cleans the scalp, then injects an anesthetic to numb the area where a 3- to 4-inch strip of scalp will be removed. After removing the strip of scalp with a scalpel, the surgeon sets it aside and sews the scalp closed. This area is immediately hidden by the hair around it.

Next, the surgeon divides the strip of removed scalp into approximately 500 to 2,000 tiny grafts containing an individual hair or just a few hairs each. The number and type of graft used depends on the hair type, quality, and color as well as the size of the area where it will be transplanted.

After the grafts are prepared, the surgeon cleans and numbs the area where the hair will be placed, creates holes or slits with a scalpel or needle, and delicately places each graft in one of the holes.

Depending on the extent of the procedure, the transplant will take approximately four to eight hours. Additional sessions may be needed if you continue to lose hair or decide you want thicker hair.

Expectations and Recovery

After hair transplant surgery, your scalp may be very tender. You may need to take pain medications for several days. Your surgeon will have you wear a surgical dressing over the scalp for at least a day or two. Your surgeon may also prescribe an antibiotic and/or anti-inflammatory drug to be taken for several days following surgery. Most people are able to return to work two to five days after surgery.

Within two to three weeks after surgery, the transplanted hair will fall out, but you should start to notice new growth within a few months. Most people will have attained 60% of new hair growth after six to nine months. Some surgeons prescribe the hair-growing drug minoxidil (Rogaine) to improve hair growth following transplantation, but it is not known how effective this is.
