Petite Women Fashions

Dresses for Petite Women

When shopping for the most flattering dresses for petite women, those ladies in the 5'4" and under market should keep some pointers in mind to present an unforgettable image. If you're shorter than average, you know how frustrating it is to find the perfect outfit and then see that it's too long or boxy for you. Shopping in the Petite department of stores and at specialty petite boutiques will eliminate much of your sizing problems, but there are still some key areas you'll want to pay attention to in order to make yourself appear taller.

Best Dresses for Petite Women

Here are some important aspects to look for when shopping for dresses:

* V-neck: V-necklines are naturally flattering to many different body types and petites are no exception. The reason this is such a good neckline for shorter women is because of the vertical interest the V-shape creates; it draws the eye up and down. It also shows off your neck, so whether you have a swanlike neck or not, this particular neckline gives the illusion of a long, lean neck.

* Vertical details: Stripes that travel the length of your dress or other interesting details that run the center of your garment create a taller appearance. Like the V-neck, this draws the viewer's eye up and down.

* Wrap style: The main reason wrap dresses are so universally flattering to many body types is the built-in V-neck as well as the diagonal direction that creates a waistline for women who don't have small waists.

* Knee length or shorter: You want your legs to look long and lean; the more leg that shows, the taller you'll appear. Dresses that hit at your knee or slightly above are the most flattering for petite types. You don't want to go too short, however. If you wear a micro mini in an inappropriate environment, you run the risk of looking like a little girl playing dress up.

* Ankle length: If you prefer longer hems, you should go very long, all the way to the floor. In the summer, breezy cotton sundresses that fall to the ankles can be paired with espadrille sandals or other heeled, casual footwear.

What to Avoid
Petite Fashion Gallery

* Calf length: Dresses that hit the middle of your lower leg cut off the long look you're trying to attain.

* Wide belt: Wide belts can work, but only when their color is harmonious with your dress. If you sport a black dress and want to accessorize with a wide belt, make sure the belt is black as well; a wide white or red belt will cut you in half, essentially taking away from the taller illusion you're trying to convey.

* Different colors: A dress should be monochromatic or have a monochromatic pattern to best flatter the petite frame. Petite women should avoid dresses that are one dramatic color on top and a completely different color on the bottom. Like the wide belt, this tends to cut the body in half.

* Horizontal stripes: Very few women can pull this look off and petite women should avoid any variety of horizontal stripes. These side-to-side stripes draw the eye horizontally rather than vertically, which is not what you want.

Teen Skirts

Different Types of Teen Skirts

No matter size, nor shape, there is a skirt out there to help maximize your assets and minimize any flaws.

* The A-line skirt is aptly named because the shape of the skirt mimics the letter A. It sits small and slim on the waist before gradually skimming the hips and thighs. The length of the A-line usually sits at, or just below, knee level. Since this style skims rather than clings to the body, it's perfect for anyone wanting to conceal their hip or thigh area.
* The pencil skirt looks great on everyone, but because it has a slightly tapered bottom, it works especially well on a curvy figure. These skirts excel at showing off every curve and should fall just slightly above or below the knee. This style also works well on either a long or short torso.
* The tube skirt is similar to the pencil skirt, but is longer and usually stops at the ankle. This is also an ideal cut for a curvaceous figure while remaining an especially popular style in teen skirts.
* The asymmetrical skirt has an uneven hemline with one side hanging slightly higher than the other. If you'd like to conceal the tops of your thighs while still looking fashion forward, then this is the style for you. Keep in mind that the fit should neither be too loose, nor too tight.
* The column tends to look best on tall and leggy frames, but will also work on a more rounded figure. These skirts are quite long, falling to the ankle or just below it.

Helpful Skirt Shopping Tips

When shopping, keep the following guidelines in mind to ensure that you come home with the right skirt:
How to Shop Key Factor Significant Because
Quality Take a look at the fabric and stitching. Is it made of a durable material? Does it require dry cleaning? Are any zippers or hooks coming undone? If it's a classic style, (like an A-line) you may want to keep it in your wardrobe for long term usage. Answering these simple questions will help you decide if it's a keeper.
Cut and Length Cut refers to the type of skirt, (if it's a tube, pencil skirt, etc.) and depending on the occasion, the length may give you reason to pause. High heeled boots and tights make it easy to wear minis in the winter, but the same can't be said for tube skirts in the summer (an A-line skirt may be more practical in the summer).
Color Black goes well with everything, as does grey and blue, but red, beige and green work surprisingly well with most tops and topcoats. Don't be afraid to experiment with color.
When Sitting No matter the length, it is very important to sit, cross and uncross your legs in your skirt before buying. There is a difference between form-fitting and "I can't breathe". Also, while wearing the skirt on, raise your hands above your head. This lets you see exactly how high the skirt may ride up, thus saving you from any potential embarrassment.

Seventeen Fashions

ast Saturday morning, Seventeen fashion intern Sara and Style Council girls Kara and Claire were sent on a special mission. On a freezing fall day in NYC, the girls headed over to the H&M store at Rockefeller Center to check out the much-anticipated launch of the Lanvin for H&M line.

What did they find when they got there at 7am? That loyal H&M customers who wanted to get a piece of Alber Elbaz's infamously luxe Lanvin line at affordable prices had been waiting overnight for the opening.

Sara, Kara and Claire got a chance to peek inside the stores before the shoppers and snapped shots of the detailed frocks- which earned them a couple glares from the people on line- eep!

Designer's Bag

Behind the Brand

Diego Della Valle is the name behind the Tod's Brand. This native Italian drew up the concept for Tod's' casual styles during the several visits to the United States he took as a youth. His father, Filippo Della Valle, had already founded a shoe factory in the 1970s and, beforehand, the family has been immersed in a small shoe business. It was apparent from the beginning that Diego's future would be found in footwear. Considering that weekend wear in Italy typically consisted of very upscale attire, Diego sought to introduce a sense of casual luxury into his culture.

The first successful Tod's item turned out to be the JP Tod's driving shoes that featured 133 pebbles along the soles. These shoes were an immediate hit amongst the Italian upper class. From this point on, Tod's began to expand its luxury merchandise to handbags, luggage and accessories, as well as shoes.

Like many high profile designers, the Tod's brand has been carried around and promoted by celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Julia Roberts, and Samuel L. Jackson. At this moment, Tod's is looking to expand into the status of a luxury clothing designer, and the company is showing excellent potential for such expansion.
Characteristics of Tod's Handbags

Tod's is a luxury brand. But unlike the wild and garish styles of fellow Italian designers such as Dolce & Gabbana and Fendi, Tod's takes more of a minimalist approach to fashion. Since the design philosophy carries an essence of upscale casual, embellishments are often subtle and bridled. At most, certain Tod's handbags will exhibit the severity of Prada.

Expect:

* High-quality Italian Leather
* Gold detailing
* Minimal Pockets
* Careful Styles
* Buckle Embellishments

Leather may be smooth or distressed, but Tod's handbags always feature superior quality materials that are accompanied by a hefty price tag. The price of Tod's handbags typically runs between 1200 to 1500 US dollars.
Tod's Styles

Tod's offers it all. Styles generally cover the usual range of:

* Satchels
* Shoppers
* Shoulder Bags
* Handbags
* Clutches

Tod's handbags also include two styles labeled the "Media" and the "Piccola" which offer a generous amount of space. The Piccola features a boxy frame, whereas the Media displays a shape almost similar to the Birkin bag.

Although Tod's does design a certain amount of clutches, these handbags may not be the best to consider for extremely upscale affairs. Once again, Tod's is a name defining casual luxury, so items worthy of a black tie event will not be found in the Tod's repertoire.

How To Be a Hot Girl

Contributed by WikiHow

1. Have good hygiene. Take some care of yourself by showering daily. If you are very active and sweat a lot then you should consider showering twice a day. Brush and floss your teeth after every meal for a beautiful smile and to prevent cavities. Also, remember to use lotion for soft, smooth skin. Wash your clothes every weekend or whenever you have time, and wear a clean outfit daily. Comb your hair, spray on a good perfume, and blow your nose.Consider shaving. Shaving yourself these days is sometimes considered hygienic, but did you know that it helps you get rid off unwanted odours? It is important to shave your legs,bikini line, and armpit hair. Armpit hair holds odour longer than skin, and you don't want to smell bad. If shaving is too annoying you could try hair removal cream, but it can irritate the skin. Also, before going to the beach, make sure you have a good bikini line.

2.
2
Take care of your hair. Wash your hair about 3-6 times a week - it varies how much you should wash your hair depending on your hair type. Wash it with shampoo that is appropriate for your hair.
* Rinse the shampoo out with lukewarm water, or, if you are tough enough, you can rinse it with cold water (the cold water will give your hair an extra shine). After you wash your hair, you should condition it, but maybe not every time if your hair gets oily easily. Be sure to use a good shampoo and conditioner made for your hair type or use a different kind that makes your hair shine bright and smell good.
* Make sure to get a hair cut about every two months/3 months to avoid split ends. If you have frizzy hair, find a good anti-frizz spray at a local store.
* If you want, you can try extensions. Since going to a salon can burn a hole in your wallet, and damage your hair, why don't you try a clip on piece?
* As an extra treat, you can apply a mask to your hair. Apply the hair mask mostly at the ends, leave it for a about fifteen minutes and rinse it of. After this you can dry and style it the way you want.
3.
3
Get in shape. Exercise, and tone up your body. Find an exercise that works for you. You don't have to look anorexic to be in shape. Looking fit is more attractive than being too skinny. Remember, the people in magazines are not the real image of beauty. Do little things like integrate more fruits and vegetables into your diet. Eat all of the required amounts of fruit and/or vegetables for your age, and make sure to make an effort to work out at least a little bit. It gets old, but drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.
4.
4
Take care of your face and skin. Taking care of your skin and face can be hard because everyone's skin is different. You can have oily skin, dry skin, sensitive skin, acne, or a combination of any of the above. This is why it is important to experiment with different face-care products to find one that fits you.
* For people with dry skin: if your skin is so dry to the point that it is flaking off then in the shower, or with warm water in the sink, take a washcloth and gently rub the extremely dry areas on you face with a little soap on the washcloth. Dry, and then apply toner and lotion to your whole face. If your skin isn't as dry, then just apply the toner, and a good moisturizing lotion. Sun lotions (for after tanning) are the most hydrating.

If you don't want to use chemicals or products for your skin, then you can either try:

1.
1
* Eating fruit and vegetables (this gets rid of acne and smooths your skin)
* Try to be outside in fresh air. This really helps as it cleans the skin, get's rid of spots, acne and oily skin. It also leaves your skin smooth and healthy looking, and it also gives you some color so you don't look so pale.
* Try taking a sauna. This is excellent if you want to get smooth and soft skin, as well as getting rid of acne. It leaves dry and sensitive skin feeling smooth and healthy.
* Be sure to wear clothes that fit or clothes that show off a little. Don't be a skank, but don't cover it all. Wear something with straps sometimes and you might want to try wearing really short shorts (I prefer jeans).
* Walk tall. Slouching can make you look unconfident, which is not "hot". A good rule of thumb is to make sure that your chest leads each step. Make sure you don't overdo it, but more often than not you won't have proper posture. Remind yourself every once and a while.

Blonde Fashion Styles.

I don't know why the French fashion house Leonard is only a faraway rumor here in North America. Looking at runway photos from Paris of silk dresses in colorful prints with a vintage vibe (think Emilio Pucci with an ethnic flair) makes me want to order an item or two on the spot. But it seems like Leonard never had much of a presence here except in perfume, and I suspect even those were never all that popular. I used to wear Tamango when I was in high school, though even back then I felt it was too safe and tame for me. I just don't do cute all that well.

The Leonard perfume I should have worn is Fashion, a 1970 release. The notes according to Fragrantica.com are: plum, tarragon, violet, raspberry, peach, bergamot, neroli, lemon, lilac, carnation, tuberose, iris, orchid, jasmine, ylang-ylang, lily-of-the-valley, rose, sandalwood, tonka bean, amber, patchouli, musk, benzoin, vanilla, vetiver and cedar. This list reads like they dumped the content of an entire perfumer's organ, gave it a quick stir and bottled the juice. But Fashion is a complex oriental with quite a bit of dark spicy fruit. Some might regard it as too busy and opaque and not very modern. Personally, I adore the retro feel and love the way a real perfume smells in all its womanly, powdery glory and velvety smooth amber base.

Fashion belongs to an era when the use of fruit notes wasn't meant to smell like spring break in a tropical hell full with Girls Gone Wild. Surprisingly, it's not very sweet, maybe because the top notes are perfectly balanced with green herbs. The only fruit note that really stands up to my nose is plum, which I adore, and find that it morphs beautifully into dry powder and woody amber. I have the vintage EDT, which is light enough for casual wearing, but I would dearly love to find the parfum. I'm sure that even in this lower concentration some would feel Fashion is dated. As a 1970 launch myself, I just ignore them and have fun wearing whatever I want.

While Leonard is still making/selling perfumes, Fashion was discontinued at some point, but can still be found online quite easily.

Hair Loss

Anyone suffering from hair loss wants to try to determine what's causing it. Often they don't explore all the possibilities and will put it down to age or just being hereditary. These are true factors but there are other causes as well and these include the use of various drugs that are used to treat a variety of illnesses.

Hair loss induced by drugs is more prevalent in women. Although with the female gender, it can also be due to pregnancy, various changes in the hormones such as imbalances or menopause.

If one were asked to guess what would be the most likely drug to cause hair loss naturally they would state chemotherapy. It goes beyond the scope of the various cancer drugs that are responsible for hair loss. In fact, antidepressants are one of the most common types of pharmaceutical drug to create at the very least thinning of the hair.

As we mentioned that hormonal imbalances are often, the culprit of hair loss this is also applicable to the hormonal drugs such as hormone replacements and birth control. In cases where steroids have been used there are reports of hair thinning and in other cases significant hair loss.

Other drugs are noted for causing the loss of hair but some are only when the drug is taken in excess. Then on other occasions, there are some drugs that will cause significant hair loss even when taken in moderation.

You may be surprised as to what other types of drugs have been reported to cause this problem. Some of them are actually common household names, such as arsenic, aspirin, and boric acid. Then some heart disease medications are amongst the list such as heparin, which is a blood thinner. If you are constantly taking ibuprofen then you may be seeing some tell tale signs of hair loss. There are also specific long-term antibiotics that can fall into this realm.

If you are on medications and you notice some hair loss, then speak to your Doctor about. Don't just assume that the hair loss has come with age or your medical condition. If in fact it is your medication that is causing the problem perhaps, your physician can change it. No matter what though be sure that you do not stop your medication without specifically talking to your Doctor first.

Losing Fat with Tea

Losing fat with tea is something that you should consider if you are looking at fat loss and losing weight. Tea fat loss is similar to losing weight on a juice cleanse or something of that nature. It is something that you can take up to lose a lot of weight fast and to purify your body, or it is something that you can use to just help yourself lose more weight moderately. It is totally up to you how you use the tea fat loss diet to help you lose weight. The big thing to consider with tea for fat loss is that tea is completely herbal. If you use tea to help you lose weight, you should know that losing weight with it will only work if you drink tea alone and nothing else, meaning make sure that you do not add anything else in with the tea, like sugar, or it may not work very well. Tea will help with fat loss because it is like drinking water. There is absolutely nothing in tea that will make you gain weight. There is no fat in tea.

You can drink tea moderately and replace it with everything that you used to drink, to lose weight, which will definitely cut down your fat and carbohydrate intake. If you used to drink a lot of soda pop and other beverages, you can be sure that, that was a huge source for weight gain right there. By eliminating everything else that you drink, but tea, you can expect to begin to lose weight considerably. It is one half of your diet, as water and liquid makes up a large part of what you consume, so drinking tea will definitely help with fat loss.

You do not need to drink tea and only tea, but if you want to lose more weight, faster, you should drink just tea. Other ideas that you can consider for tea diets and fat loss, are to consider drinking tea as a body cleanser or detox. You may want to consider going on a 3 day fast drinking only tea with lemon juice and cayenne. This will definitely help you lose weight. You should be able to lose five to ten pounds in a few days by using this diet alone, as it is one of the most recognized juice cleanses there are. Whatever you do, drinking tea will always help you lose weight versus drinking other liquids for fat loss.

Nail Polish

Easy Ways to Create Nail Polish Designs

First you need to know about nail art accessories, such as nail rhinestones, flat shapes, nail pearls, etc. I purposely put this in the first part of this article because using nail art accessories is the easiest way to decorate your nails. It doesn't need the control of hand to paint and a lot of nail art tools.
Nail Rhinestones, Pearls and Flat Shapes

Adding these nail gem stones will give an instant glamour to any nails, whether adding just one stone or designing the gem stones in a certain design (for example, arranging teardrops to make a flower or round stones for a big heart). So if you like me, who have a poor hand control, this is definetely the way to start. In my experience, rhinestone is the easiest to apply because it's tiny so it stick better to my nail. On the other hand flat shape is a bit trickier to use because it's wider so it doesn't really follow the curve of the nail bed. But it's worth to try.

How to apply nail rhinestones or beads:
Apply a layer of top coat or a small dot of nail art bonder on a dry nail. Pick up the jewel with a Rhinestone Pickerr Uperr or a dampened wood stick and place it on the area you like. Hold stone for a few seconds. Apply one or more layers of top coat and allow to dry.

Nail Art Design with Rhinestones, Pearls
Nail art design with nail rhinestones and pearls
Rhinestones Organizer

Rhinestones OrganizerIf you have (plan to have) lots of gem stone in any shape and color for your nail art. Having a rhinestone wheel or a rhinestone organizer is a great solution to keep your stone organized. It will save you time and energy for searching and searching on certain item/color.

Rhinestone wheel costs less and works nicely. The only drawback is that if the wheel is loose the stone can get mixed up. But the rhinestone organizer is pretty tight with separate compartments. Plus it comes with a place to put your rhinestone picker.

Fashion Clothes - hotestfashionstyles blogspot

Big Idea: Create a fashion hub at New York's Lincoln Center, which Stephanie Winston Wolkoff calls a "blank white canvas that hadn't been filled." "We need to incorporate fashion into every element and institution," she says, "whether it be through designer-lecture series, photography exhibitions, or collaborative efforts between artists and designers." Wolkoff is starting with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, which this month relocates to Lincoln Center from Bryant Park. Much as Lincoln Center has tried to diversify the audience for performing arts, the fashion-week director plans to democratize the typically insider-only event, via programs for designer-loving everyday Janes, including a Vogue consumer fashion show for 1,000 non-industry people featuring clothes that are actually available in stores.

Credentials: Remember how Emily Blunt flanked Meryl Streep's Anna Wintour-inspired character in The Devil Wears Prada, whispering names to her at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala? Wolkoff was a real-life Wintour whisperer. She worked for 11 years as Vogue's director of special events, handling logistics -- and, yes, all those names -- for those galas at the Met.

hotestfashionstyles blogspot

Gala as brainteaser: Organizing the Costume Institute ball "was like a chess game. I knew every detail about every person at every single seat. I worked with other editors to decide what guest was wearing what, so they wouldn't come in the same dresses. I made sure exes weren't seated with exes."

Devil Wears Prada moment: Wolkoff says that all the Vogue girls had to do menial tasks such as getting coffee and retrieving dry cleaning. Her most memorable task: "I was in London doing Unforgettable: Fashion of the Oscars," a charity auction to raise money for AIDS research. "I was with Natasha Richardson, and I was sweeping the floor in my ball gown."

Silk Dresses - Hotest Fashion Styles Blogspot

ou finally found the perfect silk dress - the one that you've always envisioned, come to life right before you in the boutique window. Silk is an ideal fabric for the warmer months of the year, and any woman will tell you that the feel of silk makes you feel nothing but sexy. But after you get it home and wear it once for that big occasion that you had planned, do you know how to properly care for it? Let's look at how you can keep your silk dress and other silk garments looking beautiful for years to come.

Laundering

When choosing a dress made of silk, be sure to select the appropriate size because a silk garment that is too small will "give" a bit, but it will cause the garment to sag and eventually, it will look less than appealing. Most garments (with the exception of those that are handmade) will contain a laundering tag, right behind the size tag on the neck of the garment or on the inside bodice.

It is important to follow the specific directions for laundering your dress that you will on this tag. Most dresses made of silk will require that you send the dress out to the dry cleaners to be professionally cleaned. And keep in mind, if you are careful with the dress, you won't need to launder it after each wear. In fact, many women will tell you that they only launder their finest silks when it becomes a complete necessity. Most silk garments, with the exception of lingerie and underwear, cannot be machine washed if they are 100% silk; blended fabrics may be machine washed if the garment label states as much - but be sure to use the "delicate" or "gentle" cycle and allow to air dry. Never spray cologne or perfume onto your silk garments; some perfumes contain oils that can stain the fabric and that cannot be removed.

Storing Your Dress

You can preserve the beauty of your expensive dress by properly storing it. First of all, never hang silk or other garments from wire hangers. These types of hangers can pick up on any moisture in the room and rust, over time. This can stain your silk and destroy it; rust stains cannot be removed. Opt instead for wooden hangers, or plastic hangers. Do not put your silk dress into a plastic bag (such as the one that covers your dress when it is returned from the dry cleaner). Silk is an organic fiber, and as such, it needs to "breathe".

Hair sprays can polish off any style, choosing the right one just depends on your styling desire. Here's a quick guide to keeping your style in place.

Hair sprays also come in either aerosol or non-aerosol formulas. Aerosol is known for its more powerful spray but isn't as eco-friendly as non-aerosol hair sprays. Both formulas are equally effective for getting the look you want.

Things Men Don't Like - Hotest Fashion Styles Blog

As if looking good wasn't tough, there are other senses we're blessed with that help figure out attraction. Unfortunately, these senses help make someone unattractive as well.

I think sound is underrated when it comes to attraction. Everyone loves music, the sounds of nature, and hates traffic rumble and nails on the chalkboard. Sound can certainly play with your nerves.

And smells cause stress as well; a bad smell forces us to move to a less foul-smelling place, and a good smell (such as boardwalk fries for me) can evoke pleasant memories. So, I decided to put together a list of sonic deal breakers:

Animal Sex Noises

Sometimes women hit strange decibels or make sounds like they are an undiscovered animal species. I want to crack up and I can no longer focus on the matter at hand. If it gets bad enough I might start wondering how it's even possible for these noises to happen, and other deep philosophical thoughts.

Snort Laugh

I think we've all done it before: laughing so hard that we impersonate swine. It seems to kind of slip out. As long as you don't do it all the time I guess it's cute. But it's an epidemic if you snort every time you laugh.

Cackle

I think the traditional witch was the first character to introduce us to the scary cackle. Sometimes everything is going well until someone unveils their awful laugh. Then, suddenly the entire foundation of attraction crumbles beneath the laugh. Horrible laughs range from weird pitches, to hyperventilating choppiness.

Man Voice

It's definitely distracting when a girl has a very deep voice like a guy, especially during "intimate moments."

Chipmunk Voice

On the other end of the spectrum, and far more common, is the girl who sounds like she's a member of the Alvin and the Chipmunks. I know many cute girls with voices that are just too high-pitched and squealing; everyone talks about it later on. It's a shame, but true.

Fast Talker

First of all, I can't understand a fast talker most of the time, and I hate - especially on early dates - asking someone to repeat herself more than a few times. And, fast talking, while it is a bit of a skill, actually makes someone sound less intelligent to me for some reason.

A Nagging Whine

While it's very effective in motivating me to do whatever you want (so that I don't have to hear the whine anymore), my tolerance for a nagging whine is low, regardless of how great you are.

"Natural" Body Odor

Common in many hippie-type girls, this is that mixture of body odor, hemp, and all those other types of scents. You can get a whiff of it when the girl walks by. It's such a tangible odor, it seems that there should be a green haze that goes with it. Definitely not my kind of smell, though some guys like the smell.

Old Lady Perfume

Most women don't make this mistake, but some perfume smells like my grandma used to smell. I'm not familiar with the names of these perfumes, but some of them definitely advertise: this is an old lady here.

Bad Breath

This is a universal deal breaker. You can't get close to, let alone kiss, anyone who doesn't take care of their teeth. Smoking doesn't help either. I've never wanted to kiss a smoker (I guess that falls under taste deal breakers).

Should Bottle-Feeding Be Banned? - Hotest Fashion Styles

Surpermodel mom Gisele Bundchen is creating buzz over controversial things she said in the UK edition of Harper's Bazaar about breastfeeding. The Brazilian mom-of-one thinks that breastfeeding should be required by law for the first six months. Disagree? You're not alone...

Here's more of what she said:
"Some people here [in the U.S.] think they don't have to breastfeed, and I think, 'Are you going to give chemical food to your child when they are so little?'" (But sometimes it's not that easy: Our mom blogger weighs in on the breastfeeding versus formula debate.) She added, "I think there should be a worldwide law, in my opinion, that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months." This is what other moms have to say about when it's right to stop breastfeeding.

Gisele is an outspoken advocate of natural childbirth who used meditation during her homebirth (related: follow these tips to ensure a healthy pregnancy), so her commitment to breastfeeding is no surprise. We wouldn't even be surprised if she wasn't grossed out by breast milk cheese.

But the flack she's receiving about this interview (The Daily Mail headline reads, "Smug mother Gisele Bundchen says there 'should be a law' forcing women to breastfeed for six months") may be due to the fact that she added this part about her body: "I think breastfeeding really helped [me keep my figure]." I can see how women would think that her focus was not on what was best for her baby, but perhaps what would get her back into runway shape the fastest

Women Swim Suit - Hotest Fashion Styles blogspot

We are all very conscious when it comes to wearing a swimsuit. So it is crucial to select the right swimsuit style to flatter your body type. We all have good features and some not so good features we would rather not speak about. Women should feel confident when wearing a bathing suit, and by selecting the right swimsuit style you will be able to flatter your good and not so good body features. So lets get started.

Here are some tips that will help you select the right swimsuit for your body type. Since you are usually very conscious of your not so flattering features, this does not mean that everyone is looking at them. If you select the right swimsuit for your body type, this will draw people's eyes away from these areas and cause them to look at your best features.

Once you have determined what your body shape is, it will make selecting a swimsuit a lot easier for you. For starters you should first look at yourself in a full length mirror and determine what your body shape is. Now that you have determined what your body shape is, use the following guidelines to help you select the perfect swimsuit for your body type.

(1) Large Build : For a full figured woman or a woman that is busty, there are several options in the style swimsuit to select. If you have a large bust then a Tankini will flatter you by covering the upper stomach and giving you the support you will need for your bust area. A second option in tops for the busty woman is the Halter Top, which will help bring the upper section of the body together and create a centralized focal point, which in turn will draw eyes away from the areas that you do not want people to look at. If your bust is considerably larger in size than your bottom then another alternative is to wear a two-piece swimsuit that has a different color top to the color of the bottoms.

(2) Medium Build : If you have a larger bust than your bottom, then a Halter style top will do the job and give you the support that you will need. You will also get the attention we all enjoy. If you have a larger bottom than your bust or mid-section, a full swimsuit bottom will help cover up and give you support at the same time. You can also select a one-piece swimsuit with a skirted bottom, which will slim you and cover the hips and thighs and flatter the top. Consider wearing a two-piece bathing suit, which has a boy short bottom. If you have a smaller bust and larger mid-section, then stick with the Tankini. This will help cover and reduce the size of your mid-section as well as accentuate the upper section of your bust area.

Best Drugstore Moisturizer for Body: Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream
""

You can't go wrong with Cetaphil, Eucerin or Neutrogena moisturizers when you are in your drugstore beauty aisle, but Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream is a beauty editor favorite. It's not too thick and leaves skin perfectly moisturized. When looking for a good skin cream, look for glycerin or hyaluronic acid. These pull water to the skin. Petroleum helps skin retain moisture, which is why you want to apply when skin is slightly damp. Price: $13.50

DIY Winter Beauty Tips that $$$ave!

Nobody knows DIY beauty better than Kayla Fioravanti, Co-founder and Chief Cosmetic Formulator for Essential Wholesale. So if the Visa bill was bigger than you expected or you've just been keeping a keener eye on your pennies, then these tips are just up your alley!

Winter Beauty Tips:
Potatoes have so many uses! Slice raw potatoes and put them on your eye lids to reduce puffiness. Or cure swollen feet with a mashed potato foot soak! Just purchase a box of dehydrated mashed potatoes and followed the recipe. Once you have your mashed potatoes add lukewarm or cool water to get the temperature to the right level to soak your feet. The potatoes will retain heat longer than a traditional foot bath and they help reduce swelling and soften skin. To make it special add essential oils before you put your feet in. Then indulge feet into one of the best soaks you’ll ever experience! (It’s perfect for making use of those leftovers…) This same concept can be used with Oatmeal. Oatmeal will be soothing and deeply restorative to dry cracked and painful feet.

Exfoliate: In the winter, the most important thing to do to keep skin remaining healthy is to exfoliate twice per week to remove dead skin cells. Central heating plays havoc on the sebum our skin normally produces, which makes our skin lose water which should be retained in the lower dermis of the skin. During the winter months there are thousands of dry skin cells ready to be sloughed off the surface and they become clumped together with oil which forms what appear to be flakes. Don’t be flaky, exfoliate! Exfoliate your facial skin with crème based exfoliates with jojoba beads. You can exfoliate your body with a butter, oil, or crème scrub that uses salts or sugars.

Hydrotherapy: For a simple in home hydrotherapy, start out your day with a hot steamy shower and just as you are finishing switch the water to cold for about fifteen seconds. Repeat the process for two minutes. This hydrotherapy technique will revitalize your skin by stimulating the flow of blood through the skin.

For an at-home spa experience, take advantage of the cranberry season by making your own homemade facial masque. Below is a simple recipe and this same recipe could be varied by using pumpkin pie mix, mashed potatoes and other seasonal fresh foods.
Cranberry Concoction
¼ teaspoon Green Clay
1 teaspoon Plain Yogurt
1 tablespoon Honey
¼ cup of cranberries
¼ cup cranberry juice

Directions: Blend the cranberries to a pulp. Mix in all other ingredients thoroughly. Apply to face and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with a dark colored wash cloth (so you won’t stain a light one). Tone and moisturize as usual. If you would like your masque to be thicker you can add more green clay. What you are left with is a radiant, exfoliated, hydrated, fresh face without spending the $$$ on a professional facial.

Eye Care

Given the important function our eyes perform for us, it would seem to follow that we'd give them the best care possible, but sometimes we get too busy or we forget to do a few simple things that can keep our eyes healthy. Well, in this article, we will give you all the eye care tips you need over the course of the following sections:

* Protecting Your Eyes

The first part of taking care of your eyes is to make sure they do not get injured in the first place. First, we will show you how proper nutrition will keep your eyes strong and healthy. Remember when you were a kid and your mom told you that carrots would improve your eyesight? Well, she might be right. Next, we tell you how to prevent eye injuries whether you're playing sports or doing household chores. We will also tell you when to wear safety glasses and what kinds will work best for you.

* Preventing Eye Problems

Your daily habits could be seriously injuring your eyes. Without you knowing or feeling it, your eyes could be slowly deteriorating from abuse. First, we will tell you about ultraviolet light, the damage it can cause, and why you need the UV protection from your sunglasses. We will also tell you about eyestrain and whether or not it's true that sitting too close to the TV will harm your eyesight. We will also give you special eye care tips for diabetics and tell you why you should be diligent about your eye doctor appointments.

* Congenital Eye Disorders

In a certain sense, some people are just born with defective eyes. Like other congenital disorders, there are many eye problems that are encoded into the individual's genetics. There disorders can include fairly simple problems like near sightedness or far sightedness, or they can be debilitating problems like glaucoma. In this section, we will tell you the symptoms of these disorders and the available treatments. We will also let you know what over-the-counter help you can get for failing vision.

* Temporary Eye Conditions

Even with the best care, eye problems will eventually crop up. Whether it is just a pesky infection, or blurriness caused by overuse, there are many temporary eye conditions that can be quite frightening. In this section, we will cover all the major eye problems like pinkeye, dry eyes, red eyes, and sties. We will also let you know about the danger of babies and pinkeye and give a guide for how and when to buy eyedrops.

Treatment for Oily Skin

A treatment for oily skin is often necessary when bumps, pimples and lesions occur as a result of overactive sebaceous glands that secrete excessive amounts of oil in the pores of the skin. An abundance of oil helps to trap dead cells and bacteria that become lodged in the pores. This can cause all sorts of acne problems. For people who deal with excess sebum, there are many oily skin treatments that can be purchased and some that are natural remedies. Several have proven to be quite effective and safe for users.

Oily skin is just one of the five, basic types that also include normal or combination, dry, sensitive and damaged or aging skin. Oily skin has large pores, an almost constant, greasy look and is coarsely textured. It usually has a continual presentation of bumps and blackheads. The one positive thing about this type is that the aging effects are slower because of the almost constant moisture on the epidermis. The normal or combination type may be a bit dry in spots, has medium sized pores, smooth texture and appears healthy. There is generally neither excessive dryness nor oiliness at any one spot on combination skin although some people may use a mild treatment for oily skin occasionally to treat minor areas. Dry types tend to age faster simply because of lack of moisture.

Red splotches and dry flakes are also commonly seen. A sensitive epidermis tends to have very small pores, be very thin and be susceptible to broken capillaries. Those with this type can also have allergies and rashes. Aging skin shows wrinkles and slackness around the jaws and cheeks as well as exhibiting broken capillaries. While all types have their own unique needs, oily types require the most care. Teens are most commonly afflicted with problems stemming from excess oil production and their epidermis may improve with age. "O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth." (Psalm 96:9) Here are some basic guidelines and product suggestions for various oily skin treatments.

First, proper cleansing is critical in successfully dealing with oils that can cause blemishes. Apply a gentle facial cleanser with warm water at least twice a day. Experts say that every 8 hours sebum should be cleaned away so as not to cause blemishes. Generally speaking, cleansing the face once in the morning and once at night is sufficient. If there is exposure to oils around a workplace or excessive perspiration during the day, washing a third time can be helpful. Care, however, should be taken not to scrub or wash too much because constant stimulation can cause more oil. A balanced, sensible treatment for oily skin is necessary.

Oddly enough, oil-based cleansers should be used in order to dissolve residue. A cleanser with anti-bacterial properties is effective since pimples are caused by underlying bacteria. Do not use a cleanser that has alcohol in the ingredients which can lead to excessive dryness. Second, after proper cleansing, use a mild, oil-free moisturizer to keep the epidermis smooth and supple. Some experts suggest that people with extremely difficult problems should refrain from using moisturizers until they are around thirty years of age. Third, other treatments that can be used are mud masks and antiseptic day or night creams.

Creams that include the ingredient benzoyl peroxide are generally the most effective. Mud masks are another treatment for oily skin that can be applied not only at spas, but at home. There are many choices that can be purchased at drug stores or cosmetic counters. Those who are sensitive should consider using a mask that has lighter colored clay. There are times when an astringent is helpful in dissolving excess sebum. Astringents should be used sparingly as they can dry too harshly. Witch-hazel is a natural astringent that can be used from time to time. Over-the-counter astringents should contain acetone which has been shown to dissolve oil.

Weight Loss Prescription

Obesity often requires long-term treatment to promote and sustain weight loss. As in other chronic conditions, such as diabetes or high blood pressure, long-term use of prescription medications may be appropriate for some people. While most side effects of prescription medications for obesity are mild, serious complications have been reported (see below.)

Keep in mind that these drugs are not a cure-all. The use of weight-loss medications should be combined with physical activity and improved diet to lose and maintain weight successfully over the long term .

Do I Need Medicine to Lose Weight?

Using prescription drugs to treat obesity should be used as an option for the following individuals:

* People with a body mass index (BMI) > 30 with no obesity-related conditions.
* A person with a BMI of > 27 with two or more obesity-related conditions .

What Prescription Medicines Are Used to Treat Obesity?

Currently, most available weight-loss medications approved by the FDA are for short-term use, meaning a few weeks or months.

Most available weight-loss medications are "appetite-suppressant" medications. These include: Didrex, Tenuate, Sanorex, Mazanor, Adipex-P and Meridia. These medications generally come in the form of tablets or extended-release capsules (pills that release medication over a long period of time). Appetite suppressants can be obtained by a doctor's prescription or purchased over the counter .

In the mid 1990s doctors also prescribed the popular appetite suppressant Redux or the combination of phentermine and fenfluramine, called "Phen-fen." However fenfluramine (Pondimin) and Redux were withdrawn from the market in 1997 because they caused damage to heart valves. Phentermine is still available. Taking phentermine alone has not been associated with the adverse health effects of the fenfluramine-phentermine combination.

Another type of prescription weight loss drug is a fat absorption inhibitor. Xenical is the only example of this type of treatment approved for use in the U.S. Xenical works by blocking about 30% of dietary fat from being absorbed, and is the most recently approved weight loss drug.

Meridia and Xenical are the only weight-loss medications approved for longer-term use in significantly obese people, although the safety and effectiveness have not been established for use beyond 1 year.

How Do Appetite Suppressants Work?

Appetite suppressants promote weight loss by tricking the body into believing that it is not hungry or that it is full. They decrease appetite by increasing serotonin or catecholamine -- two brain chemicals that affect mood and appetite.

How Do Fat Absorption Inhibitors Work?

Fat-absorption inhibitors work by preventing your body from breaking down and absorbing fat eaten with your meals. This unabsorbed fat is eliminated in bowel movements.

Do Prescription Weight Loss Drugs Really Work?

In general, Xenical and Meridia are moderately effective, leading to an average weight loss of 5 to 22 pounds over a 1 year period, more than what would be expected with non-drug treatments. However, the response to these medications is based on each individual, and some people experience more weight loss than others. Likewise, there is no one correct dose for these medications. Your doctor will decide what works best for you based on his or her evaluation of your medical condition and your response to treatment.

What you should know about weight loss pills?

As an editor of this weight loss website, I often receive questions from visitors about various weight loss pills.

It is true that some weight loss pills help in losing pounds, keep it off and improve overall energy.

But I want you know that as far as your health is concerned, don’t get into something before doing your research.

Never ever go by the hype created by the companies selling them.

It is very obvious that when someone is selling something, they will always say that their product is the best.

Should you take risk with your health? Answer is obviously NO.
So how to lose weight with them EFFECTIVELY?

In order to answer this question I conducted a multi-stage research study designed to discover how people use weight loss pills to lose weight.

Based on some facts, I have decided list of top 3 weight loss pills available in market. Here are factors that we considered.

* Company reputation
* Product price
* Side effects
* Ingredients used

* Support
* Long term benefits
* Weight loss power
* Money back guarantee

* Re-order rates
* Shipping
* Positive User reviews

Fashion Trends 2011

Le Cuir A Paris - Spring/Summer 2011 Color Trends
Dates in 2010:

Something's happening.
We have entered a new era of freedom.
We don't know what will happen next.

No longer just a bored or simply interested spectator, we have become author, actor, part of the performance. Giving into spontaneity, we allow ourselves surrealist dreams, ramblings and infringements.

We have digested the natural and outraged the virtual.

We create as part of a group, or as a solo initiative. We swap the "I, me" for the "I, us". We throw the dice up in the air without knowing the result.

Our references jostle and pile up, thrusting us into tomorrow. We add a zest of dissidence and lots of irony, to dive headlong into a season that we want to be measured, joyful and impertinent.

Archaic Garden

So we cultivate an archaic garden where primitive joins forces with antique. Where archaeologists decipher hieroglyphics that speak of Gods, of man and plants unknown.

Forbidden fruits and flowers bear forgotten names: Kumquat, oponce, papyrus, tuberose, rosewood.

Nestled in shadowy niches, worn mosaics hide behind twisted and dried branches of ivy. Collapsed columns and arches form a mound of worn stones, hiding fossils.

Colors
The range is whitened, stony, mineral or delicately fruity. The softness of faded, evanescent, light and serious colors.

Underwater Variation

Ebbing and flowing with the tide, we swim "under-current".

Dive into abysses, explore the ocean depths. We discover marine flora and fauna, submerged cities, buried amphora and pots.

A mysterious world, an aquatic and amniotic bubble. A stormy summer's day, bright with magnetic lightening, the horizon plunging into the ocean.

Colors
The range delves into the blue, and extends to an aqua green. Sea anemone pink is enhanced by inky blues and purples. Navy and brown darken the landscape. White soap bubbles refresh the saturated atmosphere.

What is Acne

What Is Acne?

If you are one of the thousands that will purchase acne treatment products this year, or undergo expensive and possibly unsafe surgeries, before you invest your money (and health!), you need to know several things about what is happening to your face, your chest and your body.

Often, individuals blame the acne on puberty. But it can be caused by many more things as well. For some, it is just this --puberty.

For others there are other conditions that may be causing the acne to appear. If you take the time to understand why you have acne, you are likely to learn how you can treat your acne.

Acne is an infection on your skin. Normally, it happens because bacteria get into your pores where it breeds.

Once the skin becomes irritated by this, it will then react in the form of sores. This is the acne that you see on your face.

Acne is generally caused by the occurrence of the bacteria on your face and increased amounts of oils on the face which make it a welcoming place for bacteria to go and hide.

These two things are generally the case for most types of acne. But, there are different things that cause them to happen. This is what you need to learn in order to know how to treat your bacteria.

• The oils that are being secreted at high levels may be due to hormone imbalances that are caused by such things as puberty, stress, health issues and other conditions.

• Bacteria can get onto the face from a poor level of keeping your face and your skin properly cleaned.

• Bacteria can feed on the dead skin cells that are not properly exfoliated away, making this a more likely target for growth.

• Eating a poor diet can help to encourage oily skins as well as lowers the body’s ability to fight off the infections that it is facing.

To learn what is causing your acne problems, you should carefully think about what is happening in your life and improve anything that you may see as an obvious reason why your body may be facing these factors.

You'll be best served doing these things first before seeking out your family doctor or a dermatologist.

Best Eye Care Cream

According to Rod Rohrich, MD, the chairman of plastic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, facial fat around the eyes starts falling first (likely due to the area’s thin, delicate skin). Combine the natural aging process with cold, dry weather and chances are your peepers will be winter-weary. That’s where supercharged eye creams come into play. Here, key ingredients to look for in a smoothing serum.

Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides. For plump skin cells nothing beats hyaluronic acid, which draws moisture from the air and holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water. In addition to hyaluronic acid, Jeannette Graf, MD, author of Stop Aging, Start Living, says that ceramides also help maintain hydration. A powerful new formula that includes both: Estée Lauder Time Zone Anti-Line/Wrinkle Eye Crème.

Retinol. “Anybody who can tolerate retinoic acid should use it,” says dermatologist Doris Day, MD. A vitamin A derivative, retinol stimulates cell turnover and collagen production, helping to strengthen skin and reduce complexion imperfections like sun spots and fine lines. Just remember that a little goes a long way; retinol creams make skin more sun-sensitive and can be overly drying, so apply sparingly before bedtime only. To get your nightly retinol dose, Day suggests Olay Professional Pro-X Eye Restoration Complex.

Neuropeptides. Supersensitive skin types might opt for a peptide-packed eye cream instead of a retinoic acid one. Like retinol, neuropeptides also stimulate collagen and elastin production, but are gentler on the dermis. “In studies applying various neuropeptide preparations directly to the skin, exciting clinical benefits were observed almost immediately upon application,” says Nicholas Perricone, MD. “There was visible improvement of the skin’s resilience, tone, and texture.” Try Perricone MD Neuropeptide Eye Contour to brighten your baby blues and for a double dose of peptides, look for Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Eye Shadow (available next month).

Vitamins C and E. Besides vitamin A (in the form of topical retinol), vitamins C and E are also potent antiaging ingredients. While vitamin C aids in collagen production and skin elasticity, vitamin E soothes and protects. MD Skincare Hydra-Pure Firming Eye Cream contains all three wrinkle-fighting vitamins.

Rash treatment.

Hotestfashionstyles.blogspot.com presents rash treatment at home

Rash,Age 12 and Older - Home Treatment

Most rashes will go away without medical treatment. Home treatment can often relieve pain and itching until the rash goes away.

If you have come in contact with a substance such as poison ivy, oak, or sumac, immediately wash the area with large amounts of water.

Once a rash has developed, leave it alone as much as possible.

* Use soap and water sparingly.
* Leave the rash exposed to the air whenever possible.
* Do not scratch the rash.

If you have a rash, you should not be in contact with children or pregnant women. Most viral illnesses that cause a rash are contagious, especially if a fever is present.
Relief from itching

* Keep the itchy area cool and moist. Put cloths soaked in ice water on the rash a few times a day. Too much wetting and drying will dry the skin, which can increase itching.
* Keep cool and stay out of the sun. Heat makes itching worse.
* Try an oatmeal bath to help relieve itching. Wrap 1 cup of oatmeal in a cotton cloth or sock and boil as you would to cook it. Allow it to cool to room temperature, and use it as a sponge and bathe in cool water without soap. You may also buy a product at the store, such as Aveeno Colloidal Oatmeal bath.
* Avoid scratching as much as possible. Scratching leads to more scratching. Cut nails short or wear cotton gloves at night to prevent scratching.
* Wear cotton clothing. Do not wear wool and synthetic fabrics next to your skin.
* Use gentle soaps, such as Basis, Cetaphil, Dove, or Oil of Olay, and use as little soap as possible. Do not use deodorant soaps.

Why? Because they understand that if a company comes up with a formula that works in hiding—or preventing—wrinkles or the “look” of aging, literally millions of dollars can be made, especially as the baby-boomer generation reaches middle-age and beyond. As with all true health and wellness, all we have to do is look to the benefits of nature's perfect ingredients.

Lanique Botanicals is very please to introduce naturopathic physician and clinical herbalist, Loretta Lanphier’s, exclusive anti-aging crème, Purely Ageless™. Purely Ageless™ combines hi-tech technology with the latest anti-aging and fountain of youth ingredients – completely natural ingredients that heal, repair and restore the skin to its natural beauty.

Acne Care treatment.

These blemishes occur wherever there are many oil (sebaceous) glands, mainly on the face, chest, and back.

You can do a lot to treat your acne using products available at a drugstore or cosmetic counter that do not require a prescription. However, for tougher cases of acne, you should consult a physician for treatment options.

What causes acne?

No one factor causes acne. Acne happens when oil (sebaceous) glands come to life around puberty, stimulated by male hormones from the adrenal glands of both boys and girls. Sebum (oil) is a natural substance which lubricates and protects the skin, and under certain circumstances, cells that are close to the surface block the openings of sebaceous glands and cause a buildup of oil underneath. This oil stimulates bacteria (which live on everyone's skin and generally cause no problems) to multiply and cause surrounding tissues to become inflamed.

Inflammation near the skin's surface produces a pustule; deeper inflammation results in a papule (pimple); deeper still and it's a cyst. If the oil breaks though to the surface, the result is a "whitehead." If the oil accumulates melanin pigment or becomes oxidized, the oil changes from white to black, and the result is a "blackhead." Blackheads are therefore not dirt, and do not reflect poor hygiene.

Here are some factors that don't usually cause acne, at least by themselves:

* Heredity: With the exception of very severe acne, most people do not have the problem exactly as their parents did. Almost everyone has some acne at some point in their life.

* Food: Parents often tell teens to avoid pizza, chocolate, greasy and fried foods, and junk food. While these foods may not be good for overall health, they don't cause acne or make it worse. Although some recent studies have implicated milk and dairy products in aggravating acne, these findings are far from established.

* Dirt: As mentioned above, "blackheads" are oxidized oil, not dirt. Sweat does not cause acne, therefore, it is not necessary to shower instantly after exercise for fear that sweat will clog pores. On the other hand, excessive washing can dry and irritate the skin.

* Stress: Some people get so upset by their pimples that they pick at them and make them last longer. Stress, however, does not play much of a direct role in causing acne.

* Hormones: Some women break out cyclically, but most women (and men) don't. Some oral contraceptive pills may help relieve acne, but unless a woman has abnormal menstrual periods and excessive hair growth, it's unlikely that hormones play much of a role in causing acne. Pregnancy has a variable effect on acne; some women report that they clear up completely, and others get worse, while many others see no overall change.

* Cosmetics: Most cosmetic and skin-care products are not pore-clogging ("comedogenic"). Of the many available brands, those which are listed as "water-based" or "oil-free" are generally a better choice.

In occasional patients, the following may be contributing factors:

* Pressure: In some patients, pressure from helmets, chinstraps, collars, suspenders, and the like can aggravate acne.

* Drugs: Some medications may cause or worsen acne, such as those containing iodides, bromides, or oral or injected steroids (either the medically prescribed prednisone or the steroids that bodybuilders or athletes take). Other drugs that can cause or aggravate acne are anticonvulsant medications and lithium, which is used to treat bipolar disorder. Most cases of acne, however, are not drug-related.

* Occupations: In some jobs, exposure to industrial products like cutting oils may produce acne.

How To Get Gorgeous Skin by hotestfashionstyles.blogspot.com

Hotestfashionstyles.blogspot.com presents How to get Gorgeous Skin

How To Get Gorgeous Skin

* Don't go to bed with makeup on. Makeup left on overnight seeps into your pores, clogs them, and congests your skin. Make sure that you wash your face twice at the end of the day. Once to get the makeup off. A second time to wash the skin itself.

* Exfoliate daily. After washing your face at night, be sure to exfoliate. Use a delicate scrub. If you don't have one on hand, a tablespoon of sugar or oatmeal will work just fine.

* Use facial masks regularly. If possible, everyday is ideal. Again, if you don't have one on hand, make your own. Mashed banana or avocado is good. Plain yogurt also works well.

* Keep a treatment and moisturizer on your face, day or night. Put your skin first. After you wash it at night, put on some kind of skin treatment, whether it's alpha hydroxy acids, vitamin A or C, or any kind of special cocktail treatment. Let that sink in, then put a moisturizer over that. In the morning, do the same.

* Don't use the cheapest or most expensive cosmetics. Mom tells me that moderately priced cosmetics are the best. They get the job done, and the ingredients are usually pretty good. You have to keep trying various brands until you find something that works well for you.

* Hydrate your face throughout the day. Whether it's a commercial product, or one you make yourself (fill a spray bottle with distilled water, add a few drops of chamomile or rose essential oil, shake it gently before each use, and spray it on) hydrate your face, even over makeup, frequently throughout the day.

* Treat your face gently. Never pull, tug, or scrub your facial skin. Be very gentle when you clean it, moisturize it or makeup on it. This will lessen the chance that you'll damage your skin and get wrinkles.

* Keep your face covered when you're in the sun. As beautiful as she is, my mom never lets anyone see her face when she's in the sun. She'll slather on a high factor sunscreen, put on sunglasses, and a wide brimmed hat.

* Eat fresh foods and drink lots of water. My mom tells me to stay away from "dead food" food that's basically not fresh. She always eat lots of veggies, fruits, nuts, and drinks tons of water.

* Let go of stress. Stress can show up on your face, no matter how well you take care of your skin. Do something your enjoy everyday, whether it's watching TV or going shopping. Your face reflects what's going on inside of your mind.

15 Things hate by teenage girls.

Hostestfashionstyles.blogspot.com presents 15 things that annoy a teenage girl.

I am 15, and a pretty average teenager with very strict parents. Here is my perspective. This is not supposed to be disrespectful.

1. Saying “Because I am the parent.”

This probably annoys me more than anything my parents do. When you say this, no matter how good your actual reason is, we feel like 6-year-olds. It is so disrespectful. Just because you are the parent does not mean you can do no wrong. Plus, it makes is seem like you just want to make us miserable. I know this isn’t the case, but if you can’t think of a logical reason then don’t be surprised when we question it. “Because I said so,” fits in this category too.

2. Being Hypocritical

This means making us listen, and then not giving us a chance to explain our side of the story. This means if you want an open relationship with us, to not yell when we come to you with problems. This means to not yell at us for doing something wrong, and then going and doing the exact same thing, whether it is fighting with siblings, staying up late, or cussing. For example, my parents don’t let me drive with teens, which would be fine if they didn’t complain about driving me everywhere. Choose a side please! Actions speak much louder than words. Also, don’t demand respect if you are not willing to give it out.

3. Forcing us to have “Family Time”

As much as you don’t want to believe it, we want nothing to do with family right now. We don’t want to be seen going to the mall with the whole family, or waste a Saturday night sitting around with you. I know it hurts, but you were the same way. Please, don’t force your teens to include a little sibling when friends are over. It will just cause tension. I promise you, if you don’t shove family down our throats, we will actually want to hang with you. Believe it or not, we might ask you to chill!

4. Acting like being a teen is a walk in the park. It’s not.

I realize times are tough, and it bites to be an adult. Working and supporting a family is hard. But please keep in mind, we go to school instead of work. It actually takes a lot of effort. I am required to get a perfect GPA, and be very involved in “wholesome extracurricular activities.” I go to student leadership meetings at 6:30 in the morning, then go to school for 8 hours, then go to various club meetings, followed by sports practice, then come home to do a few hours of homework. It can get really frustrating when you act like we don’t work hard. Plus, we are teens with hormones, and everything feels so intense. It really can take its toll sometimes.

5. Not Letting Go

We aren’t babies. We are going to kiss, drive, have relationships and be independent. Give us reasonable boundaries, fair ones please. But when you freak out about kissing, it’s out of control. Put it in perspective. In high school, kids do horrible things. Be thankful your child isn’t smoking or drinking or having sex, which is not okay. We know that. But in order to gain our respect, you have to let us grow up and grant a little freedom. No matter how much you want to change it, little Suzy is going to kiss her boyfriend, and Timmy is going to learn to drive.

6. Acting like our emotions are meaningless.

If we're mad, there is a reason. If we're crying, the pain is real. Don’t say we're being dramatic, and please don’t force us to participate on a day were not feeling up to it. Try to cheer us up and if there is nothing serious (depression) going on, leave us alone if we ask. And don’t tease us about it. If you respect our feelings, we will respect yours. Plus, if you try to be understanding, we're more likely to come to you about issues you need to know about.

7. Saying hurtful things.

Please, watch what you say. A friend of mine had parents who put her down about her looks. Mine call me horrible things when we're fighting. Sometimes, you can say the absolute wrong thing and the very worst time. No matter how angry you get, or if you are joking around, never tease or yell things at teens that could be offensive. We will remember it.

Hostest Fashion Styles blogspot presents 3 ways to smell fresh in summer

c

Finally it's summer, summer, summertime! (Cue hit single from Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff circa 1991.) I don't know about you guys, but we've been experiencing a scorcher of a summer here in New York. (I'm talking 90 degrees and up...yikes!) While I would normally love to stay in my apartment and bask in the cold of my air conditioning all day, that's not always possible and I find myself cringing when having to venture outside. Check out these fun ways that I came up with to avoid smelling sweatacular when it comes to hanging out in the heat.

Hostest Fashion Styles blogspot presents 3 ways to smell fresh in summer

Ok, before I share my summer fragrance wearing ways with you, I'd like to point out that I suffer from QBPD, or Quirky Beauty Product Disorder. This disorder usually affects those that are beauty product junkies (such as myself) and means that (much like words) I'm forever trying to come up with new ways to use them. (I think I developed this disorder a couple of years ago when I became a beauty editor at a women's magazine.)

The great thing about having QBPD is that I'm full of strange and fun beauty tips to share with you (like the ones below). The bad? Well, there really can't be a bad when it comes to beauty, right?

Hotfashionstyles.blogspot.com present Oily skin beauty tips.

Hotfashionstyles.blogspot.com present Oily skin beauty tips.

Our skin produces and secretes oil naturally. This is actually a good thing, as the oil helps to protect our skin and keep it moisturized. Too much oil—or a build-up of oil over time—can cause problems, however. These problems can range from too much shine or sheen to problems with makeup that won't stay put or appears patchy or spotty.

So, what is one to so with naturally oily skin? The first thing (believe it or not) is to try to adjust your diet. Certain foods seem capable of increasing oil production, and if you decrease or eliminate those foods from your diet, you can naturally cut back on your oily skin. For many people, it helps to avoid sugary foods, alcohol, caffeine, and even shellfish.

With the diet under control, make sure that you clean your skin regularly. The cleaning should include the use of a good cleanser. You can find lots of different types of cleansers on the market, but you will want to read their labels carefully. Look through the "marketing hype" that you will find, and look for something that will help remove the oil without damaging or overly drying your skin. Use the cleanser regularly; at least once a day.

s a final note, consider keeping a journal of your skin conditions. This may sound strange, but you will find that if you have oily skin, it probably seems excessively oily at certain times and in certain environments. For instance, you might notice the oiliness more in the summer or in a hot, humid environment. You might notice it more a couple hours after a certain meal, or when you are under a particular type of stress.
